Why Did They Call Me?

I got this recorded call a few minutes ago paid for by the Heritage Alliance of Texas. At the time of the call, I didn’t know who they were, but it wasn’t hard to figure out from the questions they asked.

They said that there are three “hot button” issues in Texas this year and they wanted my opinion.

1. Should voters be required to show a photo ID when voting?
2. Should study of the Bible be offered as a high school elective course in literature?
3. Should the number of abortions allowed by judges to underage girls in Texas be tracked?

Really? These are the “hot button” issues facing Texas? What about replacing the star on the Texas flag with the face of Jesus? What about building a 90-foot, electric fence along the border that will only send a killing shock to Mexicans? What about making all non-misdemeanor crimes punishable by death or rounding up all the “Sodomites” and casting them into hell (i.e. Las Vegas or Miami)? What about re-segregating schools and trying witches by holding them under water?

I think you guys at the Alliance are getting a little soft, but that’s just me.
