Steve Salazar, the drummer in my band, had all of his drums and equipment stolen from his van last Thursday night. Some jerk broke into the van in his driveway in the middle of the night and took everything – drums, cymbals, hardware, even his damn stick bag!!!
Steve is a working musician – some of you probably know him – and a really good guy. He is trying to support his family and now this. orange is in is working to help either recover his stolen gear (unlikey, unfortunately) or help him financially with new gear. At this point, it is uncertain whether or not his insurance company will cover any of his losses.
Even if you know nothing about the theft or are unable to contribute, please pass this information on to local musicians, music stores, friends, family, co-workers etc. so that we can help him out. Steve is a dedicated, hard working musician who plays not only with my band, but with a number of local projects including David de la Garza from La Mafia. He and I worked together in the Basics in the mid-90’s. He’s a good guy with a great family and he needs our help.
You can visit http://www.orangeisin.com/helpsteve.html for more information including a list of everything stolen, HPD case numbers and a link for making online contributions through PayPal. Here’s that link for convenience…
Thank you so much for your help. If you have any questions or info, feel free to contact me at any time.
