Weekend Exhaustion
January 13th, 2008 by jeff
I’m freaking tired! That’s the simplest way to put it. Why you ask? (I imagine you said “Do tell” in a British butler accent). Well, let me tell you…
Friday
Friday night was going to be movie night with Katya, but it was changed to game night with Katya, Rebecca and Stephen. Unfortunately, K got a sinus infection and B&S got stuck on a project. Fortunately, the Gorgeous Ladies of Flickr (GLOF) were going out to Christine’s to just hang and eat all the food her husband so graciously made (thanks, Mike!). I hung out with Tracy, Kymberlie, Elaine & Kenny, Christine & Mike and a few other folks who, sadly I don’t know terribly well.
I was there until quite late, but it was all kinds of fun.
Saturday
Saturday morning, I got up and went to Molina’s for the Mama Dram Con Queso II, a meetup of Houston bloggers set up by Jenny and Laura. There were loads of bloggers there and quite a few members of GLOF including pretty much everyone mentioned above as well as Christine K. Tracy and I spent most of the morning doing out best Robert Evans impersonations and discussing how we want to put Jenny and Kymberlie in our pocket so that we can have them with us wherever we go.
After that craziness, I visited my dad (updates here) and then went out to Chris’ house to work on songs…and play Madden…and watch Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny.
I went out after to get late night pancakes with Christina, who had just left a bachelorette party (good timing), at IHOP and then I retired for the evening.
Sunday
I woke up early to cheer on Erin as she ran in the Houston marathon thingy - I’m so specific. I managed to get home (after taquitos and Shipley’s, of course) and rest for a couple hours before heading to the Dr. Sketchy event at Avant Garden. Happy Katie invited me to come take pictures of a burlesque dancer posing for sketch artists and, frankly, how could I turn that down. There are a few pics below.
Like I said, I’m tired. That was one nutty weekend. Time for sleep and the work week ahead. Sigh.

It was too, too, too much fun. I can barely type from sheer sleepiness, but I wouldn’t have missed a minute of it!
Well…maybe the minute where you announced to the entire lunch table that I was a drama queen. Harrumph. ;P
Now I can’t wait for NEXT weekend!
You are even more hysterical in real life, if that’s even possible.
Also, I once saw Tenacious D, live in concert.
Best. Concert. Ever.
Man, you are a busy one!!
Thanks again for rocking it out at Dr. Sketchy - your photos are so gorgeous!!
I’m tired just reading about your weekend.
And then next weekend…all come together for an orange is in super event! Yea!
Hey, Jeff — why does Katya hate me?
@Rebecca: LOL! You idiot!
