Hump Day Became Rock Night on TV
July 17th, 2008 by jeff
Late night television does its best to bore the living hell out of us with tired jokes and stale guests to the point that even Sarah Silverman breaking up with Jimmy Kimmel rates only because of the “I’m F*cking…” video series that, hopefully, hasn’t actually come to real life.
But, last night, two shows on late night got their rocks off for realz. Colbert Report (and, to be fair, I LOVE Colbert and the Daily Show) had the first US tv appearance in over 30 years by Rush while David Letterman wheeled his bones out long enough to see The Hold Steady rock the crap out of a song of their new CD, Stay Positive, which dropped this week.
Video evidence below.
